How notarised translation works in Albania
In Albania, an official translation is produced by a qualified translator, and a notary then certifies the translator's signature. This gives the translation legal standing so it can be filed with public institutions.
If the document will be used abroad, it often also needs an Apostille or embassy legalisation. Whether the stamp goes on the original, on the translation or on both depends on the destination country. We check this at the start so your document is accepted the first time.
Translations for foreign authorities
As part of an international network, ABC Translation also coordinates sworn translations required directly by authorities in other countries – for example France, Italy, Germany or Switzerland – where the foreign institution only accepts translators accredited with its own courts.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a certified and a notarised translation?
A certified translation carries the translator's statement and signature confirming it is complete and accurate. A notarised translation goes one step further: a notary certifies the translator's signature. Most institutions in Albania and EU countries require notarised translations for official documents.
Is a scan or photo of my document enough?
For the quote and to start translating, usually yes. For some procedures the notary or the receiving institution may require the original or a certified true copy – we'll tell you in advance if that applies.
Do I need to come in person?
No. Almost the whole process runs by email and phone. Finished documents are sent electronically and, where the stamped original is needed, by courier to your address in Albania or abroad.
How long does a notarised translation take?
Standard documents such as certificates or criminal records usually take a few working days. Long or technical documents take longer. We confirm the exact turnaround with your quote, and an express service is available.
